Kanzashi Wedding Artistry was founded when I helped a friend figure out what to do for the centerpieces and cake topper for her daughter's wedding (See story below).

Though it started out solely as a wedding business, it has evolved into so much more. Kanzashi Wedding Artisty is also known as KWA Floral Designs where I focus on wreaths, ornaments, and hair bows. I also enjoy creating holiday centerpieces.

Almost everything is custom made upon order, but be sure to check out my store for you never know when something new may be added for immediate purchase.

Now back to the story...

One week before the wedding, the bride was out of town having left few instructions to describe how she wanted the topper and centerpieces designed.

As my friend and I went searching for ideas, we didn't like what the local craft store had. We didn't want an assembly line product. We didn't want it to be the same as the neighbor's. We wanted something that reflected her daughter, soon to be son-in-law and the life they were going to build together.

It was then that I turned to online videos, learning via the Kanzashi technique how to make a simple rose.

The flowers on the cake topper were assembly line, but my daughter helped tip the petals in silver to make them unique. Another friend of the family chose the lace and sheer ribbon that wrapped around the cake tiers. I added matching ribbons to the topper.  I was thankful that I had my pyrography tools with me (they traveled all the way from MO to UT!)  and was able to customize a design on the bride and groom initials.

The rose on the centerpiece was created, by hand, using the previously mentioned Kanzashi technique. If I would have had more time, I would have used similar roses on the cake topper. Alas, I only had a week, 10 centerpieces to make, the cake topper itself, and other items on the to do list. The centerpieces were assembled and temporarily glued onto the mirror -- along with the candle holder-- ahead of time. On the day of the reception, we simply pulled the pre-assembled centerpieces from the box and placed them on the tables.  This made a world of difference when it came to down to the wire for getting everything set up.

From these simple ideas and designs bloomed a business idea grander than I could ever imagine!  I am excited at the possibility of helping make your special moment one to last a lifetime of memories. , I will help ease the burden, as I do the work to help make your wedding uniquely yours.
